Black is typically the most common in gothic decor. However, other colors can enhance or replace black. Use colors that complement its Gothic style, whether you like vampires, medieval times or a general darkness.

Furniture

Antique – or faux antique – furniture can give a medieval atmosphere or Gothic vampire. Gold, wrought iron or carved wood furniture is ideal. Use pieces that have a dramatic touch, like a wrought iron headboard large or large chair worthy of royalty. Black or dark wood furniture is more common for gothic decor.

Fabrics

Chair cushions, curtains, bed linen and cushions should include rich fabric which offers an interesting range of texture in the room-Gothic theme. Deep red velvet curtains work for a room that looks like a medieval castle, while pure black, red or purple curtains can surround a bed or windows for a vampire lair.
