Futuristic chair designers in the 1960s took an interesting turn in the direction of modern and innovative forms. The 1960s futuristic chair design includes a variety of pieces of designer Arne Jacobsen. The designer is responsible for the Egg, Swan, Ant and Lily, spanning the final years of the 1950s to the 1970s. Jacobsen designed the pieces for hotel lobbies, banks and reception areas, but the curved chairs with the minimalist design fits into the futuristic and modern design from the 1960s to the late 1950s, the curved design of the Swan was an innovation in furniture design.
